About Me

If you stumbled upon this, welcome. I am grateful you are here. My name is Emely and this is Heart of Hospitality. I have created this as a space for myself where I can share my perspective on hospitality. Whether you wandered here out of curiosity or boredom, I hope you decide to stay and follow me on my hospitality adventures.

Unlike many people who go to college, I actually pursued a degree that I am truly passionate about.  I have B.S. in Hospitality Management and I am SO grateful for it. I have always loved food, traveling, festivals and all the little details that create those experiences. I decided to take those things I love and literally study them.

What is Hospitality Management?  Hospitality Management is the study of the hospitality industry. This includes hotels, lodging, travel, food and beverage services, event & meeting planning, festivals, casinos, cruise ships, spas and private clubs.

What is Heart of Hospitality? I have created this space as a blog by mixing

  • my personal love for food, traveling, festivals & event planning, etc.
  • my educational background + current professional career experience
  • personal research on hospitality (cause I’m a nerd & like learning)
  • my enjoyment of writing & taking pictures

One of the the main aspects of hospitality is driven from the root of wanting to help others, to make them feel welcome – at home. Hospitality is about creating experiences and a making others feel good. I hope I can share my experiences in a way that can help you.

Heart of Hospitality is my new home and I hope you find some comfort here. I hope you learn more about me, hospitality and I hope it makes you want to adventure more. That being said, I really appreciate you taking the time to read this. Your opinions and questions are always welcomed! Make yourself at home and stay tuned for my next post.

Love,

Emely
